Timothy Engel

Timothy Engel – Director of Business Development

Timothy is a former medical device engineer with many years of experience providing business development counsel for healthcare companies. He joined BCS Electronic Design in 2010 to lead BCS’ expansion into the U.S. market, with a focus on the northern and southern California markets. Mr. Engel also currently provides financial and marketing mentoring to companies at all stages through volunteer positions with CONNECT’s “Springboard” business development program, and OCTANe’s “Launchpad” startup-focused program. He also holds the title of chairman of the programs committee for DeviceAlliance, a southern California community of medical device professionals.

Prior to this, Mr. Engel’s most prominent role was as the leader of the corporate development team at a New York City-based investor relations agency. Here, Mr. Engel helped his clients set up the initial infrastructures of their companies, and generated investor interest among angel investors, private equity groups, M&A targets, and venture capitalists across the United States and Western Europe.

In addition, Mr. Engel worked on the design, development and manufacture of several different medical devices in contract engineering roles with MEPS Real-Time, California MedTech, and Cytori Therapeutics (NASDAQ: CYTX). He holds a bachelors of mechanical engineering degree, with a concentration in biomedical engineering, from the University of Dayton, OH.
